Ensure that you are logged on to your computer with Administrator rights.2. Close any applications running before installing the printer driver.3. Put the supplied CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. If the model name screen appears, choose your machine. After reading and accepting the License Agreement, click Yes if you agree to the terms.11. Choose Local Connection (USB). Click Next.12. When prompted to Plug in the USB cable, connect the USB cable to the USB port in the Brother machine and to an available USB port on your computer.NOTE: If the installation freezes at this point, verify the USB cable is securely connected to the Brother machine and computer. Verify the USB cable is connected to the USB port on the machine and not the Network/Ethernet port.
Try connecting the USB cable to another USB port on the back of the computer.NOTE: Brother recommends you use a type A/B USB cable that is no longer than 6 feet directly connected from the machine to your computer. Other cable configurations may work, but connection loss is common.13. Turn the Brother machine on.14. The installation of the printer driver will automatically continue.
The installation screens appear one after the other. Do not cancel any of the screens during the installation.
It may take a few moments for all screens to appear.15. When the User's Guides screen is displayed, you can click View Manuals on the Web to view the user's guides. Click Next.16. Read the Environmental Advice for Imaging Equipment message. Click Next.17.
When the On-Line Registration screen is displayed, you can click Brother Registration and follow the on-screen instructions. Once you have completed the registration or if you have already registered your Brother machine, click Next.18. When the first Setup is Complete window appears, you may enable (check) or disable (uncheck) any of the following settings as desired and then click Next to continue the installation:- Enable Status Monitor on Startup: A software tool for monitoring device status and error notifications from your PC.- Set as Default Printer: Set this printer as the default printer for the current user.19. When the second Setup is Complete window appears, you may enable (check) or disable (uncheck) the following setting as desired and then click Finish to continue the installation:- Brother Product Research and Support Program: Help us plan enhancements to our products.20. When the Software Update Setting screen appears, choose the software update setting you want and click OK.21.
